10 Habits of Highly Successful People

Ok, so everyone wants to be successful. I haven’t met a single individual who has mentioned that they’re goal in life is to be unsuccessful. No matter your current state, implementing good habits every single day will create a positive mindset and create success in your life. 

I’ve compiled a list of 10 habits everyone should practice in order to become successful and reach your life-long goals.

Wake Up Early.

Let’s face it… waking up late (or just in time) to throw on your clothes, forget your lunch and rush out the door is clearly not motivating. The rest of your day is bound to be in shambles. So wake up early, do yoga, read a chapter in your book, listen to music or write in your journal… your day will be ten times more enjoyable and productive when you kick off your day with a clear and relaxed head space. 

Write It Down.

You can’t possibly remember everything, so it’s essential to write down your thoughts, ideas, goals, plans and make lists. There are countless apps you can use to record your daily tasks and events, but I enjoy physically writing things down. Utilize a journal or planner and keep it with you at all times. You never know when a bright idea will pop in your head and you want to be sure to write it down before you forget. I also believe that writing things down is a great way to hold yourself accountable, especially if you include a deadline!

Focus on Your Mission.

What is your why, your vision, your purpose? Why is it that you are doing what you do? Take a moment to reflect and then figure out what your main focus will be. Be careful not to add too much to your plate. Start with what’s most important to you, set goals, take action and implement strategy. 

Create a System.

Now that you have a clear focus of what it is that you’re wanting to achieve and why… you can now begin to plan. You can set a million goals, but creating a system and taking action to reach those goals is where success comes in. Planning will create order and consistency to live a more stress-free life which in turn, will build habits for success. 


Be Fearless. 

Whatever it is that you’re trying to achieve… think of it as already happening. You’ve heard of the Law of Attraction, where if you focus on positive thoughts and experiences, you will attract  those positive outcomes. Do not be fearful of rejection, criticism or skeptics. When you maintain a positive mindset, you are more susceptible to positive results. Live like you’re already there! 

Accept Criticism.

With that being said, learn to accept criticism with grace. Everyone isn’t always going to agree with you, but that’s life! Instead of questioning their doubts, learn from them, improve upon them and move along with a smile on your face.

Developing a Healthy Lifestyle.

Having a healthy lifestyle is more than just about what you eat. It’s also about the way you feel, your mental health and taking proper care of your body from every perspective. The first step you can take is removing negative people from your life. Check your mood and energy… if you’re constantly on edge, figure out what the cause is and make the necessary changes to live happy. Do you have any hobbies or interests? How active are you? Re-evaluate your lifestyle and start implementing healthier choices each and every day. 

Take Risks.

It’s okay to get out of your comfort zone, in fact it’s encouraged. You’ll ever know what’s out there until you go out and find it yourself. Push yourself to never give up and always lead by example. One of my favorite quotes is by Caroline Myss, “Always go with the choice that scares you the most, because that’s the one that is going to help you grow.” 

Read to Learn.

Successful people are always looking to grow. Find a book related to your business or venture, take notes, and start implementing the new strategies you have learned. If you’re not a reader, try out a workshop, conference or online webinar. Keep an open mind to new ideas and opportunists. 

Recharge. 

I saved the most important for last… rejuvenate! Get your rest and time time to unwind. Enjoy some alone time, it’s well deserved. Take a walk, read a magazine or head to your local coffee shop. Don’t have this vision that you need to work around the clock to achieve your goals and dreams. You can’t possibly be the best version of yourself if you aren’t making time each day for you. 

Always remember to take things slow. Success doesn’t happen overnight. Try out one new habit a day and soon you’ll be an expert at productivity and creating a lifestyle of habits that will result to success. Share your successful habits with us in the comments below!
