Healthy Snack Ideas

Sticking to a healthy snack regimen is the best thing you can do for your body. Since starting my weight loss journey, I struggled to find quick, easy, kid-friendly snacks that take minimum prep time. Of course there’s always apples, cheese sticks, fruit and salads, but let’s face it… BORING!! I’m going to share a few of my super simple, quick recipes that are very budget friendly (because we all know how expensive eating healthy can be).

Tuna Stuffed Avacado

So yummy and filling! This recipe calls for:

  • Canned tuna (or chicken) drained
  • Avacado (halved & pitted)
  • A dash of lime juice

I added a tiny bit of balsamic vinegarette just for taste. You may also add diced red bell pepper for additional flavor.

No Bake Energy Bites

My little ones had fun with this one and 1-2 bites is actually quite filling… Once you mix all of the ingredients, you can chill it for about 15-20 minutes, roll into balls and serve! Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1/2 Cup of Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 1/3 Cup of Honey
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Cup of Old Fashioned Oats
  • 1/2 Cup Flaxseed Mill (ground)
  • 1/3 Cup of Mini Chocolate Chips

Zucchini Pizza Bites

So long hefty pizza rolls (my old time favorite). These zucchini bites take minimal prepping and only 5-7 minutes to bake (350).

  • Zucchini (sliced)
  • Pizza Sauce
  • Shredded Mozzerella Cheese

I told you… minimal prep, quick and easy is what I’m going for. You’ll thank me later!

Sliced Apple Cookies

Another one of my kids’ favorites! Slice an apple, cut a circle around the core to take out, spread peanut butter and sprinkle mini chocolate chips. Easy peasy!

  • Apples (Granny Smith or Red)
  • Creamy Peanut Butter
  • Mini Chocolate Chips

Enjoy! Feel free to share your favorite healthy snack ideas with us in the comments below! I would love to add more to our list of favorites…
